About Earth Worth Exploring

Field notes from the places still worth the walk

Last updated August 13, 2026

Earth Worth Exploring is an independent publication about trails & routes and everything next to it. It exists because the useful version of this subject is usually the one nobody has time to write.

The tone we aim for is measured, observational, quietly opinionated — we assume you are intelligent, busy, and able to tell when you are being flattered.

What we cover

The site is organised into 6 sections:

  • Trails & Routes — Walking, trekking and the practicalities of getting somewhere on foot.
  • Wild Places — National parks, coastlines, deserts and the ecosystems inside them.
  • Conservation — Who is protecting these landscapes, how it is funded and whether it is working.
  • Gear & Craft — Kit that earns its weight, and the skills that make less kit necessary.
  • Slow Travel — Trains, ferries, long approaches and the argument for taking longer.
  • People & Place — Rangers, guides, farmers and residents of the places we visit briefly.

Who writes it

Every article carries a named writer with a profile page, and nothing is published anonymously. You can see the full list on our writers page.

How it is funded

Advertising pays for this site. It does not buy coverage, placement or a favourable word, and our editorial policy sets out exactly how that separation works.

Who publishes it

Earth Worth Exploring is published by Longmoor Field Press, a sole proprietorship of Aditya Malhotra, 14, Sector 9, Chandigarh, 160009, India. Telephone: +91 99101 46307.
